François Lagae is Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, as well as cofounder of VRcontext. He has a 25 years experience in IT, including 7 years as Chief Executive Officer of Wave Research/FilePool, a Belgian software success story bought by USA-based EMC, the worldwide data storage leader, and 5 years with Hewlett-Packard in international marketing and sales. François is also a board member for a number of other IT companies. He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Louvain (Belgium).
Alain Hubrecht is President, Chief Technology Officer, and a cofounder of VRcontext. He worked for 15 years in Computer Aided Design at Tractebel Energy Engineering (TEE), now part of Suez Group, where he led the Virtual Reality team. He has assisted TEE’s research unit in power plants projects of all types and has developed activities in visualization and training tools for complex industrial environments. He has been an expert in Virtual Reality for the European Commission for 7 years and is now NATO expert for Homeland Security projects. Alain has also been a founder and is an active shareholder of different start-ups in the CAD field. He is an Architect from the Higher Institute of Architecture of La Cambre (Belgium).
Alexis Bogaert is senior investment manager with Dexia Private Equity, a division of Dexia Bank Belgium. He has 8 years private equity experience with focus on early-stage and expansion financing for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), as well as restructuring and change of management/ownership issues. He started his career at Dexia's SME credit department, concentrating on international expansion finance for small enterprises, followed by a two-year stretch as technology equities analyst in Dexia's dealing room. Alexis holds Master’s degrees in Criminology and International Politics from Leuven University, as well as in Corporate Finance and Financial Accountancy. He is a board member of various companies and funds in the medical devices, industrial manufacturing and services, and environmental technology sectors in Europe and the USA.
Jean-Claude Jungels is the Managing Director of Start-It, a venture capital fund. After starting his career as an engineer, Jean-Claude took up leading duties in the banking sector for more than 10 years. For the last 23 years, he has headed a consulting practice specializing in assisting the management of SMEs with general direction, financial management, and accounting. He is also Consular Judge at the Commercial Court of Liège, Vice President and Treasurer of the Walloon Union of Enterprises of Liège, and Administrator of the Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Liege. Jean-Claude holds an MSc from the University of Liège, supplemented by an MSc at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (USA) and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Columbia University.
Herman DeLatte joined Solid Capital Partners in 2004 and is also a General Partner of NeSBIC CTe Fund, which he joined in 2000. He was previously Chief Executive Officer of ON Technology in Boston for three years. Prior to joining ON Technology, he was Chief Operating Officer of Micrografx in Dallas for three years, after spending three years as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the company’s international subsidiaries. Before joining Micrografx, he was Managing Director in major areas of Europe for Ashton-Tate Corporation. During the first 10 years of his career, he held various development, account management, sales, and sales management positions at Control Data Corporation and cofounded two software companies in The Benelux, Ores and Madesu BV. Herman holds a Graduate in Computer Science degree from The Lindelei College in Belgium and serves on the boards of several companies.
