Complex industrial projects generally include diverse components such as steel structure, concrete, equipment, piping, HVAC, etc, conceived, designed and assembled by different specialized contractors. As a result, a great diversity of 3D CAD files are generated. Projects are then subdivided by zones, floors or sub contractors, depending upon the type of project, its size, its complexity.

In this work methodology, regular project reviews are mandatory. Therefore, the ability to merge and consolidate such diverse input into a single model limits the risk of information loss, confusion and communication shortfall between EPC design and construction teams.
